Speed Queen has introduced a revolution in laundry room convenience,
accountability and profitability. The CardMate Plus System offers
the industry's first commercial washers, washer-extractors, and tumblers with
factory-installed, smart card reader controls on individual laundry units for cashless
operation.
This new line of electronic display control equipment provides you the opportunity to
offer the safety and convenience associated with card-operated equipment without the
hassle and high costs that can be incurred when installing centralized reader controls.

At the gas station, grocery store and in laundry facilities. The CardMate
Plus System takes cashless card service even one step further
with smart-card microchip technology. These cards hold more information than
traditional magnetic stripe cards and are more dependable. 
Smart-cards are added-value cards, meaning that customers
pay cash for the card and then use the card to make transactions. The customer
activates a washer or dryer by inserting a smart-card, rather than by plugging it full of
coins. Funds are deducted from the value remaining on the card.
Customers purchase or add value to a smart-card from a CardMate
Value Center (CVC) or CardMate Service Center (CSC) -shown
right, located within the laundry room.
The CVC dispenses user cards or adds value to previously purchased cards
using cash, credit cards, debit cards, or other on-line transactions. It also
provides a printed receipt for all transactions and allows the user to view their card
balance.
The CSC adds value to or dispenses user cards with cash only. It
also allows the user to view their card balance .
Customer Benefits
Time-savings. There's no need to search for exact change or carry
around a pocket full of coins. Customers simply purchase a card at either a CardMate
Value Center (CVC) or a CardMate Service Center (CSC), and they're set to do laundry.
Increased safety. Your customers don't need to carry money to do

Easy to add value. Just go back to either the CVC or CSC and add
value to the existing card.
